Governor Rick Scott says he wants about $200 million for Florida families who adopt foster kids.
According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, the funding is expected to help provide critical services to more than 37,000 kids鈥攑ost adoption.
November is also National Adoption Month. As part of the month, DCF is partnering with the Governor鈥檚 office of Adoption to feature 鈥�30 days of Amazing Children.鈥�
That means every day this month, a child awaiting adoption will be featured on DCF鈥檚 Facebook page as well the DCF website. There are currently 800 kids awaiting adoption.
Last year, more than 3,600 kids in Florida were adopted. Officials say it鈥檚 the most in eight years.
