Practice makes perfect for Tarpon Springs as they prepare to march for Macy’s.
The award winning Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts is comprised of approximately 180 students. These talented kids from Tarpon Springs High School are used to working hard. But this year they are pushing their potential even further to march in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They strive for outstanding leadership and perfection. What I have witnessed in the past couple of months is amazing. Not having been in band myself, I was dumbfounded at the amount of work and dedication it takes to perform at the level of these students. The rehearsals are never ending. It’s about counting your steps, positioning your body just right, breathing when you’re supposed too and walking a straight line. I don’t know about you, but on a good day, I have a hard time walking a straight line. This has been a real eye-opener for me and I am honored to be documenting it in a new show for Public Television called, Journey to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, produced by ¸Û°ÄÌìϲÊin Miami, Florida.
