Statewide Coronavirus Cases Increase By 3,306 Resident Death Toll Reaches 15,068

Florida surpassed 720,00 positive cases of COVID-19 as confirmed an additional 3,306 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
Florida now has a total of 726,013 confirmed positive cases, according to the state's health department.
Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties make up 822 of the newly reported cases. Monroe County only added 19 cases overall.
Thursday鈥檚 update also included the announcement of 164 new resident deaths, increasing the statewide number of Floridians who died to 15,068.

Plan To Keep Fan Capacity Limited At Hard Rock Stadium Despite Phase 3 Of Reopening

The Miami Dolphins intend to continue hosting fans in a limited capacity at Hard Rock Stadium for home games despite having clearance under Florida鈥檚 Phase 3 reopening to host patrons at full capacity.
鈥淩ight now with [COVID-19] positivity rates where they are, we feel that we can keep people safe in a socially distanced environment, which is our 13,000 capacity manifest,鈥� Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel said in a statement to the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Wednesday.
The state of Florida saw its coronavirus positivity rate exceed 5 percent on Oct. 5, and the Florida Department of Health reported Wednesday a total of 15,084 people have died from COVID-19 complications in the state.

Monroe County Distributes $1 Million In CARES Act Money To Small Businesses

More than 250 small businesses in the Keys have received a total of $1 million in CARES Act money.
A total of 577 applied, according to the county, and 259 were funded. Of those, 134 sole proprietors received $2,500, 109 businesses with between two and 10 employees got $5,000 and 16 businesses with 11-25 employees got $7,500.
The businesses included retail, food, galleries, charter fishing, salons, pool service and photographers.
Another $1 million will be available in a second round of grant funding 鈥� you can learn more about the county program . Businesses that were not funded in the first round can reapply.
The county also announced it will be opening a grant program for nonprofits later this month.
